Bristol Plants & Seeds' Cell Transplant operation has been in business since 1988.  Initially set up to provide cell transplants for our ownsilverbeet market gardening operations, the facility now caters for commercial growers in the Central North Island region. The facility now has 20,000 sq ft under cover.

Since the beginning of the growing operation Broccoli, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Celery, Eggplant, Lettuce, Parsley, Peppers, Pumpkins and Squash, Silver Beet, Spinach, Tomatoes and Cut Flowers have been grown in cell trays. Trays used range from 273's to 60's.

The Cell Transplant operation operates 99% of the time, from pre-contracted business. The seed is grown and cared for, to the specific amount of time to achieve a well grown transplant which is usually 33-60 days average, depending on the crop grown and the season.
